About Us
The Zoological Society of India is the oldest academic body in India, established on 7 January 1938 at Lahore, to provide a platform for quality academics and research in zoology and allied fields.
What we stand for
Our objectives
- A platform for zoology. Providing a platform for quality academics and research in zoology and allied fields.
- All India Congress of Zoology. Holding the annual Congress with simultaneous national and international seminars, symposia and conferences.
- A meeting point for the community. Bringing together researchers, academicians, scientists, experts and students to share recent advances.
- Peer-reviewed publishing. Publishing the biannual, peer-reviewed and indexed Proceedings of the Zoological Society of India.
- Recognising excellence. Conferring annual fellowships and 20 awards and medals to encourage the academic and research community.
- Zoology for society. Applying zoological knowledge to environment, biodiversity, health, disease vectors, nutrition and human–animal interactions.
